Went down in two evenings. Haig's great gift is clarity — nothing gets in the way of the feeling.
If you've read The Midnight Library you know the shape of this. Comforting, gently written, and not especially surprising.
Picked it up at a bad time and it helped, straightforwardly. Not every book has to be complicated.
He keeps finding new frames for the same essential kindness and somehow it never wears out. This one is about the journeys we don't take, and it made me cry on an actual train.
