One-sitting book. Exactly what I wanted on a rainy Sunday.
Some rough edges in the prose but the plotting is confident well beyond a first novel. I'll read whatever she does next.
I read a lot of these and I did not see either turn coming. Tight, propulsive, no wasted chapters.
Metafictional setups can collapse under their own cleverness and this one mostly doesn't. The escalation in the last act is very well judged.
